The DocGraph Journal adds spice to CajunCode Fest 2014!

Tuesday April 8th, 2014

The DocGraph Journal is adding spice to CajunCode Fest 2014.  At the 3-day event, they will be offering a $1500 prize for the most novel use of DocGraph RX (Medicare Part D Prescribing Pattern Data for Louisiana in 2011), and a $1000 bonus for the Cajun Codefest prize fund. The award will be available to those competing at Cajun Codefest as well as virtual entrants who register athttp://www.docgraph.org/cajun-codefest-2014/.

The DocGraph Journal is a Sponsor for the event, and encourages teams with data science and database management talent to collaborate with the Cajun Codefest challenge entrants around this year’s theme: “Aging in Place”. The virtual hackathon will happen alongside the in-person codefest, and will end just before the judging of the codefest begins, allowing us to celebrate the winners of both contests at the same time. There will be separate prizes for the codefest and hackathon.

The DocGraph Journal, an open data science journal, creates communities of data scientists working to improve healthcare.

At the event, Fred Trotter, data journalist and author of Hacking Healthcare (O’Reilly, 2012), will be delivering a plenary session on DocGraph RX, on how to leverage the dataset using graph analysis techniques. Trotter and other DocGraph data experts will be on hand to answer questions.
